Plain Language: Best Communication Practices to Benefit All Learners

In this training, developed by the Oregon Office on Disability and Health in partnership with Comagine Health, attendees will learn how to:

  • Recognize the prevalence of disability and the need for accessible and inclusive practices.
  • Explain the importance of using plain language in written and verbal content.
  • Apply recommended steps from the training to revise and make existing content more accessible.
  • Create accessible written content using plain language best practices.
  • Recognize methods that make communication more effective across specific disability types.

The training is designed for coordinators, facilitators, leaders and coaches of health education programs.
