The Nevada AHEC Scholars program is a two-year commitment is for heath profession students wishing to enhance their education by gaining additional leadership knowledge and experience in rural and/or underserved urban settings.

Key program opportunities will include:

  • Online coursework
  • Cultural Competency
  • Peer-to-peer mentoring
  • Current and emerging health issues
  • Practical capstone project

An individual’s environment inhibited him/her from obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to enroll in and graduate from a health professions school. If you grew up in an underserved or rural area up until the age of 18, you can identify yourself as a disadvantaged applicant.
