COVID Mitigation Medal

The COVID Mitigation Medal recognizes vigilance and excellence in infection control and prevention efforts at long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) centers. The COVID-19 pandemic surfaced many new problems and compounded existing ones. Comagine Health wishes to recognize the excellent work centers in our six-state region of Idaho, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington are doing to keep residents, staff and the wider community safe by limiting the spread of COVID-19.

Program Details

Any LTPAC center located in our six-state region (Idaho, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington) can apply for the COVID Mitigation Medal. 

The COVID Mitigation Medal is offered on a quarterly basis. Once you have submitted your application, Comagine Health will notify you each quarter if you have won the COVID Mitigation Medal. There is no need to reapply on a quarterly basis.

Q2 2023 Award Criteria

Below are the criteria used to determine the winners of the COVID Mitigation Medal. Comagine Health will use vaccine data available to us to determine whether applicants have met or exceeded the award criteria.

• Resident Up-to-Date 80% or higher - % of current residents who are up to date with COVID-19 vaccines – Based on data reported in NHSN question # 5

• Staff primary series completed 90% or higher - % of current health care personnel who have received primary series COVID-19 vaccination at any time – Based on data reported in NHSN question #2

Award Timeline

Award winners are determined every quarter by NHSN vaccination data submitted in the last week of each quarter . Winners will be announced the following month (April, July, November and January).
