As part of our initiative to support nursing homes in providing high quality, effective and safe care for residents, Comagine Health prepares interactive nursing home reports using publicly available data. These reports, derived from Nursing Home Care Compare, offer a concise, actionable view of the quality measures and important health citations, something not available on the Care Compare website.
The Quality Measure Performance report helps you identify measures that are improving or worsening, highlighting project opportunities for your Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
Because of their impact on residents, we suggest you consider improving quality measures such as:
- Hospitalizations and emergency department visits
- Urinary tract infections
- Catheter left in bladder
- Falls with major injury
Nursing home leadership may choose to use these reports to view a snapshot of repeat health inspection citations for an individual home, as well as for a selected state, in the current three-year period of data. When you’re aware of the number of citations and any pattern of repeated citations, you’re better able to improve systems and processes for effective, reliable and safe care, as well as reduce the risk of becoming a candidate for the Special Focus Facility program.
Comagine Health staff can provide you with additional support for your performance improvement efforts. Please contact your improvement advisor or send us a message.
