This session focused on recognizing and addressing the impact of change fatigue on staff, residents, and family members, to reduce the potentially negative effects on quality improvement efforts and the quality of care. Large and small group discussion opportunities allowed participants to explore strategies for building a culture of psychological safety that supports engagement to reduce the risk for change fatigue.

This session focused on implementation of the Kamishibai Cards (K Cards) to support implementation of new processes, as well as monitoring compliance with process implementation for real-time measurement and daily improvement opportunities. Participants explored how experiences with using K Cards can provide stories to share about their quality improvement journey and how they can provide a motivating vision for continued improvement efforts. Participants also learned and saw how K Cards can demonstrate a facility wide commitment to high quality care, continuous learning and opportunities to engage staff, residents and families in quality improvement.
This session focuses on a processes and strategies for documenting the quality improvement journey, which includes maintaining an inventory of performance improvement projects (PIPs) over time and capturing successes and lessons learned during implementation to be shared with staff, residents, and families. Roundtable discussion will provide an opportunity to share and learn between peers about strategies to cultivate stories about the quality improvement journey. Participants will explore various options for celebrating and sharing these stories about their quality improvement journeys.
